Good e-Reader readers, rejoice! Pocketbook has just released a new firmware update for their newer e-readers, including the Pocketbook Era, InkPad 3, InkPad 3 Pro, and Touch Lux 5. This update brings a host of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes that are sure to make your reading experience even better.
One of the biggest changes is the inclusion of more audio formats for better sound quality, such as AptX, LDAC, AAC, and SBC. Additionally, the reading program has been improved with the ability to mark translated words as “translation notes” and save both the translated word and its translation into the Notes. There’s also a pronunciation function added to the dictionary of the reader program and dictionary app, so you can listen to the translated word.
The user interface has also been improved with the ability to configure tap zones on the screen of the e-reader, smoother scrolling of PDF and DjVu documents in the scroll mode, improvement of brightness and contrast adjustment in illustrations of FB2-formatted books, and more.
The Notes application has been updated with the ability to sort notes in the list of book notes as well as sort books in the list of books with notes. You can also export notes from a book or from a group of selected books and import them on another device.
The Photo Frame app is now presented as a separate app in the app list of the device and has been updated with a lot of new useful functions such as creating and editing playlists of images for the slideshow, adjusting slide show interval, enabling/disabling the display of the current date and time, and more.
Other improvements include quicker synchronization with the PocketBook Cloud, Book Store app, Vietnamese added to the list of possible user interface languages, and various bug fixes.
If you have one of these supported models, make sure you update your device to take advantage of all these new features!
