It’s no secret that most dedicated ereaders come with Bluetooth built-in these days, but what you may not know is that most of them don’t support connecting remote control page turners using Bluetooth. While some devices, like Onyx’s Android ereaders, have had this feature for quite some time, Kindles, Kobos, Nooks and other ereaders still don’t offer it. So why don’t these popular ereaders support Bluetooth page turners?
The answer may lie in the fact that most of these devices are designed to be used with a single user in mind. That means that they don’t need to be able to connect to multiple devices at once, which is what would be required for a Bluetooth page turner to work. Additionally, the cost of adding this feature would likely be too high for the manufacturers to justify.
So while it may be disappointing that most ereaders don’t support Bluetooth page turners, it’s understandable why they don’t. But if you’re looking for a device that does offer this feature, Onyx’s Android ereaders are a great option.
